“NEAR: BOWER is a moment of intersection, an architecture of coincidence, a node in a constellation. A geographical link between two people from opposite sides of the tracks pinpoints an apparently random location for break ing bread along the abandoned railway- the potential for communion between two strangers at an imaginary industrial-scale community dinner table.”

Residents and other community members were invited to come together for a communal cocktail party and discussion at the Urban Room, Folkestone to open the project. Later a carefully selected group of community representatives met for a communal meal on the abandoned railway tracks of the ‘Harbour Line’
